Safety;
Yes, Curacao is a very safe destination. There is a low crime rate, and most of the crime is (unfortunately though) drug related; There is a higher crime rate is any western city.
Currency:
Curacao is linked to the US$, so you always have a fixed exchange rate of 1: 1.78 (NAF-US$).
It is possible to pay with dollars, although you will get a 1.75 to 1.6 exchange rate in most places. We advice you to pick up some of the local currency, the Dutch Antilles Guilder (NAF).
Money machines and Credit Cards: The island offers a many places to pick up money (US$ or NAF). You can also pay with credit cards in most of the establishment, certainly in restaurants and shops.
Language: The official language of Curacao is Dutch and Papiamento (a mix of Dutch, Spanish and Native speech). Almost everybody speaks either English or Spanish. People in tourism and shops speak english.
People are friendly, so use your hand and feet, and you will get where you need to go!

Curacao is outside the hurricane belt, so we have no hurricanes,...convenient to know when you are planning a wedding in the Caribbean!

Dangerous Animals: Beside an occasional jellyfish, it is very unlikely you get hurt by any of the animals on the land or in the sea. There are no poisonous snakes, spiders, nor dangerous sharks in the sea.
Politics: Curacao is a democracy with a democratically chosen government Nope, no dictators here.
